Wireless Network Connectivity

The Ohio State University wireless data network services allow OSU students, faculty, staff and guests to connect while on the go.


Two primary wireless networks are available:

  • osuwireless–This encrypted network is for students, faculty and staff. Login credentials are the same lastname.# and password established at
  • WiFi@OSU–This is a multi-purpose unencrypted network that provides guests with Internet access and helps students, faculty and staff connect to the encrypted network, osuwireless.

Additionally, eduroam access is now available in most locations on all campuses.

There are currently more than 8,700 wireless access points deployed across all campuses.


No Cost to End Users
Wireless access is available at no cost to students, faculty, staff and guests. New access points or additional coverage is billed to departments and colleges, not the end users.


The secure osuwireless network requires authentication to connect.
