University E-mail Service: Change Your Password

Faculty, Staff and Sponsored Guests

Your University E-mail Service password is synchronized with your Ohio State Username (lastname.#) password.

Go to the Self-Service site at my.osu.edu and log in to change your password.

Student Employees and Administrators

If you have a student employee or administrator account in the University E-mail Service, you use an account-specific username (lastname.#s, lastname.#a, lastname.#sa) and password. Your student or administrator e-mail password is not kept in sync with any other account or password.
Students, please note that this information does NOT apply to your Buckeye Mail account (lastname.#). See Buckeye Mail - Frequently Asked Questions for more information.
If you have forgotten your password or it has already expired, contact the IT Service Desk at 614-688-HELP (4357) for assistance.

Change Your Student Employee or Administrator Password

You must use Outlook Web App (OWA) to change your password. OWA provides online access to your student or administrator University E-mail Service account and can be accessed at email.osu.edu.

  1. Go to email.osu.edu.
  2. Click [Log In Now].
  3. Type your University E-mail Service Username (lastname.#s, lastname.#a, lastname.#sa) and e-mail Password.
  4. Click [Sign in].
  5. Click Options in the upper right corner of the page.
  6. Click Change your password under Shortcuts on the right side of the Options page.

  1. Change your password.
    1. Type your Old password.
    2. Type your New password and Confirm new password.
  2. Click Save.
