NOTE: The University Email Service is for use by Faculty and Staff only.
Before attempting to configure your phone to check your University E-mail, be certain to request that the Active Sync feature is enabled for your account. This can be done by visiting our Self Service site ( https://osuitsm.service-now.com/selfservice/order_splash.do ) . You may also contact the IT Service Desk at 614-688-4357. If you have already requested that Active Sync be enabled, you do not need to do so a second time.
On your device, tap the 'Settings' option and then tap 'Mail, Contacts, Calendars'
On the next screen, tap 'Add Account' and then tap the Microsoft Exchange option.
On the following screen, enter the information that is being requested. Use the table below to assist:
||Type your full email address. For example : email@example.com
||Enter the following: OSUAD
||This is just your username or name.# . For example: buckeye.2
||This is the same password that is used for Traffic and Parking, Carmen, Buckeyelink and OSU Wireless
||Description is completely optional
Once your account has been verified and logged in successfully, you should see a screen that resembles the following:
The device should automatically detect the server address of email.osu.edu and enter it into the server field.
Tap the 'Next' button in the top right hand corner.
On/Off sliders for Mail, Contacts and Calendars will appear. Verify the options you want to sync with your phone.
WARNING!!! Be sure to back up your Contacts and Calendars that are already on your device before you sync.
Once you have verified your syncing options, tap SAVE
After tapping the 'Save' button, you will be taken to your inbox.
DO NOT BE ALARMED IF YOUR EMAIL DOESN'T SHOW IMMEDIATELY
It may take a few minutes before any messages appear.
